It's one of my biggest desires to master Photoshop. I have always learned best from other people. I do spend a lot of time looking through Photoshop tutorials on youtube, and other guides and tips. Sometimes that is not enough.
I would love to learn some tips and tricks of Photoshop from people in the know. I would really like to get a good work flow down, so I am it's master and not the other way around. Once I learn more, I could be a very good teacher for others. I am tech savvy. I have been a photographer for a good while, in the manual style. And I do tech support by phone for wireless home networking customers. So you can imagine I am pretty patient with people to be able to do that 10 hours a day.
My Dad gave me his 2nd registered copy of Photoshop CS (version 8). I work on a mac laptop. I do plan to get a more sophisticated set up once I can afford it; more current Photoshop, a nice monitor, one of those spider things or better to calibrate it, etc.
I can do a lot of the basic things pretty easily like making adjustments to the brightness, contrast, and some basic color correction. I can combine images with layers, even cutting a piece of a photo out to put on another photo. But I struggle a little with this. I sometimes forget some of the steps in the process, and have to re-figure it out. I would like to learn a decent work flow, and learn to work more cleanly and precisely. I want to learn more advanced graphic design techniques though.
Most important to me is to learn how to make my photographs look very professional, even slick and magazine-like. I am also a collage artist. I've done them by had for years, and would like to take that to the next level with Photoshop. I work with video, and would like to learn how to design graphic lettering or logos for myself and clients too for intros and documentaries that need that.
I will bring to this group creativity, a constant hunger for more knowledge, and the ability and desire to teach others who ask for additional help, once I get it down more.

Welcome to the Drumming for Bellydancers class! I must caution though: This is not a drum circle nor an open jam. The class is structured toward entry level Middle Eastern drumming. Bring a small drum like a doumbek; not necessarily a djembe please (Djembe lessons are to come later.) Guitars are welcome. If you can play some flamenco riffs, all the better!
