This is same post as on OVCC but I thought I'd put it here as well since it applies to Photoshop.
I have a panorama that I created that I'm just not happy with. I've tried processing it different and with different effects and I still haven't produced anything that looks good. Before I go and delete it I thought I would see if someone here could make something of it. I've placed a unprocessed reduced size in the photos for anyone that wants to give it a try. Bad Panorama Thanks! |

Disregard this now, the image has been trashed.

Jason,
I don't think you trashed it good enough. I found it and did a number on it. Hope you like it. Not sure what you wanted or expected. What I did was create a curves layer then a mask and then painted out the rocks so the sky showed through, flattened it and then did another curves adjustment to the whole thing, this time paying attention to individual channels (RGB). I started to use USM (un sharp mask) but didn't like it so took it off. Rick Edited by User 1,950,132 on Apr 10, 2008 11:38 PM |

Jason I also took a few minutes with Photoshop and your picture and deposited in the group photo album. Check it out and see what you think. I think it is a wonderful picture. Jim

Great job Jim. I don't think Jason is here anymore but everyone loved the image. Also FYI I moved the image to "re-touch" everyone is welcome to deposit images there. -tony

Start on this by using Levels to move the brightest areas up to white. Then use Hue & Saturation to bring some color back into the photo. Finally, adjust the contrast using Curves or any of the other contrast controls.
