What about Walcom Tablets

I use Photoshop (Elements and CS4) to enhance my photography where necessary. Sometimes this means selecting backgrounds to improve depth of field, remove objects or simply change the lighting. One of my challenges with Photoshop is making selections. Would investing in a Walcom Tablet and moving away from a mouse be a wise investment?

A Wacom tablet is an outstanding way to use Photoshop. It's much more "tactile" than a mouse, and much easier to finesse around those weird curves. I have the Wacom Intuos 3 9x12 and I wouldn't trade it (except for the 12x18). The problem is that Wacom is very expensive - the 9x12 is about $700.

A very good alternative is the Genius PenSketch. It's available on Amazon and other places for about $130 for the 9x12 version. Be wary of using the little "sketchpad" versions, some are just too small in area to be of real use. In this particular case - size DOES matter.
