Hi Tony! I took your class awhile back and remember one of our sessions covering sRGB and Photoshop Adobe. Do you have something on your site here that would refresh my memory on why we would ever change from one to the other, and what the default usually is?
Thanks, Debbie |

gosh Debbie was it that long ago LOL
well here is a link, let me know if you have questions.sRGB and Adobe RGB Well its kind of a long explanation because several factors could pursued you to adjust settings from one to the other. But for best results "most" of the time, sRGB is going to be your best bet. Most printers, All web sites and most printing companies will be able to optimize your images using the sRGB format. Only in some cases were you know exactly the end "printing" process or needs would you need to be concerned with Adobe RGB or PRO Adobe RGB. Keep in mind that if your camera has the ability to adjust color settings (custom color settings) that you need to be aware of what setting you're shooting in. You may need to do "convert color profile" in CS3-CS4 to sRGB for best results. Hope this helps, -t Edited by Tony Terentowicz on Mar 13, 2010 12:16 AM |

Thanks Tony! I will read through all this. It seems as a rule, we used sRGB all the time but there were exceptions (I thought) where we used the Adobe, unless you were only showing us how to set the camera to that setting. Appreciate your quick response!
