I already posted this on the FB group, but since I've been told (in no uncertain terms, no less) to leave messages here, I'll do that as well!
In the new CS5, opening several documents now puts them in sort of 1 window with tabs. How do I now drag a layer from one image to another when they are in a tabbed window? I can do it dragging the windows apart, but that seems like cheating? I there another way? Copy and paste won't work for layers across documents. Vick See you Monday! (or Saturday) |

ha-ha Vicky :) The FB page is mainly for making people aware of this photoshop group. This Cincinnati Photoshop Group Page has manageable group settings along with meeting calendar... and vast other tools available in order to manage and effectively help members in our group. I just didn't (or don't) think its necessary to create duplicate boards. You can however start here and make comments, add photos, ask questions, reply to meetings, etc. and then share that content on FB or tweet your post.
Ok... CS5! I'm not there yet LOL as I said in previous meetings, personally I haven't upgraded to CS4 or CS5, holy cow I still haven't mastered all the techniques in CS3! (which ok I never will) So currently my thoughts and classes are based in mainly CS3.. that's because that's where I'm most comfortable as of this moment. With that being said, Yes we can insert techniques here and there from other versions whether from previous versions or newer versions. Like any graphics software or other software application there is always going to be enhancements and improvements to make your job easier or more efficient. My thought for now is that my current version of PS seems to work fine for the amount and type of images, logos, renderings and other graphic work I'm doing. My philosophy is "if it aint broke don't fix it" A basic question and thought I have is: 1) why cant you make selection of the layer in question [cntrl A] (if your trying to select the entire image or layer) OR use your marques tool [cntrl M] and make a selection then [cntrl C] 2) then go the panel (tab) in the layer you want to insert the copied image (which is a layer) highlight the layer you want to insert the new layer above or below and [cntrl V] 3) this seems intuitive to me and if this doesn't work then CS5 has changed a very basic cntrl key system and I don't have an answer to (YET) I apologize for not being able to answer any better than that. I have been pouring through the help dialogs and haven't found a answer that addresses this question directly. And since I don't have CS5 loaded I cant test it for you :( best of luck and if you do find a correct answer please reply here so it might help others later on. -t |
